Britannia Arms in Capitola

I always love coming here. Classic British Foods, kind of Continental cuisine you can get dressed up or you can be super super casual and they're really flexible with the menu I absolutely adore the waitstaff they are so friendly and accommodating.And they're consistent consistently good.My absolute favorite is fish and chips and their tartar sauce is to die for.

We eat here frequently and also call in orders to go. I've not had a bad meal to date and the service is professional and efficient! Bacon cheeseburger and their great steak fries; shepherd's pie; chicken strips; and, the BEST fish and chips anywhere!!! One night a week that last one is all you can eat... I highly recommend this well run "pub" which is a shining jewel among Capitola's many fine places to grub!

Good British food. Nice location. I always get a pie or pasty, and I've never been disappointed. Not many places can make "simple" bar food. I put simple in quotes because it's not simple, it just looks that way. One note, choose your table wisely. Some of them can get >a lot< of sun, and it can sneak up on you if you're there around sundown. If you're like me and the sun really bothers your eyes, think about where you sit.

Second chance...no better than the last. Cheesesteak sandwich was awful. Bacon wrapped prawns were ok. Service is not so great, and the food doesn't seem to be prepared with style or much care. I'll give it one last chance and take some more pics.

Always enjoy going to have a meal at Britannia Arms. I Love the Shepherds pie the most. But, Until the security guard enforcing wearing a mask Is patrolling the restaurant, I will not go in for a meal. He is very pleasant, but wearing a mask is not healthy and I will not be able to comply nor should anyone be ask to. I would give 5 stars otherwise. It just isn’t a pleasant experience to be followed around like you are going to commit a crime. I hope people wake up, do the research, and end this invasion of our civil liberties. Masks are not healthy and do not stop a virus.

Good food and wonderful waitress. Very friendly. The bathrooms could have used some TLC, but it is next to the beach and it was pretty crowded,so I wouldn't hold it against the place because the food is great.

Corned beef sandwich was too salty, coming from someone who eats salty foods all the time. Caesar salad was a caesar salad. Nothing special, but croutons were decent. Staff was very kind and attentive though!

The patio dining is beautiful, especially this summer! Small but facing the beach. Try the fish and chips, it's a huge portion. Wash it down with a shandy. Great happy hour pricing.

Decided to have birthday lunch here with my dad, a local surfer. My dad and I walked outside to seat ourselves (per the sign at the entry). A waitress walked outside and said to us, “this is dine in only.” Confused we said “yep, we are here to eat.” Waitress: you can’t have those coffees in here.Dad and I: So we cant order food here if we are finishing our coffees? Waitress: nopeWe Will NEVER return. Super rude. What kind of restaurant turns down a $40 food order because of a $4 coffee? Interesting business model.

Outstanding Happy Hour prices, outdoor seating, nice view of Monterey Bay.

Food was great, service was spotty, thank God it was dead. The only working waitress was busy with her off duty colleagues who were getting trashed. Food was great and the bartender was too notch, only reason they get 3 stars.

On this trip it was the best food we all had, Our breakfast was simply amazing. The service was fast the food was very tasty and the price was extremely reasonable for the quality and quantity of food. If you ever go to Capitola this is a must eat restaurant.

They have Guinness and poured perfectly!!! The owner is wonderful and the atmosphere is great. I enjoy coming here and the beach view is nice ☺

I have been coming to this restaurant for many many years, and it never disappoints. It has an excellent variety of beers and traditional British meals. The staff is always super friendly and helpful and over the years we continue to see the same faces that work there. The location is fantastic as it is right on the corner in Capitola with fresh ocean breezes and amazing panoramic views.

Delicious philly cheese steaks, with a decent portion. I just thought that they were a little pricey for the quality, but I would still recommend!

Food is good. Service is good. They have tables outside in front of the see. Dog friendly. Fish and ships were good and the bacon shrimps too.

The skins were great nice size. And the wigs were also good !!!

Had the seafood pasta and burger. It was one of the best I have ever had. Service was also fast and kind. Thank you for the experience!

The BLT is okay and the cheeseburger is okay. The BLT had nice fresh produce and very crispy bacon on toasted white bread, the downside was the bread toast, it was burnt. The cheeseburger did not soon fresh, and it was also on an old sesame seed bun with little flavor and wasn't very hot. The french fries and onion rings are delicious. The food comes out fast but they are lacking staff.

Food is okay. The place is more of a pub really. The management is very friendly. Family owned place.

The best around. Andy, the owner has the best and biggest steak and egg breakfast in all of Santa Cruz, Capitola and elsewhere. The vibes are good and sports are the order of the day.

Owner is very rude and disrespectful to me and my father after he had ordered a beer and was unknowingly not given the correct cup for it by a staff member. Proceeded to follow my father outside and came into my personal space (while not correctly wearing his mask) and snatched the glass up and made a nasty remark on his way back. Do not come here if you expect courtesy or personal space.

The outdoor patio looking toward the ocean is a great place for people and ocean viewing Their food is good. Try the bangers&mash! Burgers are good too. Nice place to check out when visiting Capitola by the Sea.

Stopped here for a quick lunch. I had some deep fried prawns with British style fries. It was pretty good! The waitress had a cool accent! We came at pretty busy time and had to wait a bit for our orders.

Love capitola and love going here especially prime rib night when there is a ballgame on

Fantastic Rubin sandwich & fries! Huge! I work in the Village & this is my special treat go to lunch.

I wandered in late Saturday evening and the joint was jumping with dancing, music and even a little singing. Paid $7.50 for a passable whiskey sour. All in all, a nice pub.

Ignore the haters reviews of this place. Service was great and the food was very good too. Total pleasant surprise.

Service was wonderful, food was amazing and the closeness to the beach is spectacular. I had breakfast and husband had a burger. Both were really good, best onion rings the hubs has ever had!

Better known simply as “The Britt” . A English Pub in legendary locale, yet somehow it’s maintained just enough of a neighborhood identity that those of us who live here still go for happy hour or a meal even on either Lobster or Prime Rib night!Service is amazing.Specials are affordable and hearty.Five Stars all day long.
